Elizabeth "Libby" Merrill is a resident of East Providence and is running for School Committee in Ward 3. Libby is a parent of a fourth grader attending East Providence Public Schools and grew up attending public schools in Rhode Island. For the last 20 years, she has worked as both a teacher and administrator, including six years as an elementary and middle school teacher.
Libby is running to ensure that every child has access to an excellent public education. That is why Libby became a teacher in 2006 and that is the personal mission that has kept her working in schools ever since.
As a parent of a student in the East Providence School department, Libby has a personal stake in our schools and the success of our students.
On the School Committee, Libby will work her hardest to ensure that all students and families in East Providence feel included in the schools and get a strong and supportive education.
